Positively U Community Service Opportunity
We are a non-profit, community-based, organization that services people living with HIV or affected by HIV. We provide lifestyle classes, as well as doing outreach in the community. Our goal is to help all individuals in Florida maintain a healthy lifestyle while practicing an out of the box approach to care.
Volunteers become a part of helping communities engage to become empowered with knowledge, skills, and resources that impact their health and uplift their quality of life this is why we call them Value Peers. Volunteers will assist the events and be an assistant to staff members that are facilitating classes, set-up and break-down materials for classes, pack our marketing materials, do outreach, carry 25 to 50-pound boxes and do office duties.
Overall, Value Peers are trained to be our backbones of achieving Positively U goals for the community and our volunteers will play key roles in several of our positions. Students may gather experience for their future college major.

Youth Driven by Purpose, Inc.
We are dedicated to providing at-risk teens and young adults with programs that are aimed to improve their spirituality, education, and cooperativeness through successful programs, advocacy, mentoring, and community-based connections. Our enrichment programs are designed to empower youth to be future leaders within their communities.
Next Generation Leaders Tutoring Program provides free tutoring to youth ages 12-17 years old. We have partnered with Polk State College to provide General Education Tutors to students that join our program. The tutors assist by preparing middle and high schoolers with upper level application. Our tutors provide coaching on practical skills to enhance learning. The tutors act as role models and form positive relationships with students.
Next Generation Leaders Mentoring Program provides an opportunity for youth to develop leadership skills and other essential life skills as they transition into adulthood. This program caters to youth ages 12-17 years old. We explore curriculum that focuses on social skills, career development, healthy living, financial stewardship, diversity, and a culture of serving. Community leaders are invited to monthly meetings to encourage, mentor, and share their journey to success. Participants have the opportunity to receive community service hours, as well as engage with other youth through learning activities, service projects, and enrichment trips.
Our enrichment programs are free to middle and high school students. Our organization would like to partner with the Polk County School Board to reach more middle and high school students in the Winter Haven community. I have attached some information about our enrichment programs, I look forward to hearing from you soon!
